My English Journey -The way we walked together- (T. Maria)

Dear Maria,

This is for the first time in my entire life that I am writing a class review in English.

I'd like to share with you my English journey and the way we walked together.

- Where We Were:
It's been a long time since our first day of class. Like what? Three years? Before I met you, I was in a state of bewilderment. I just vaguely felt that I needed to learn English, both oral and written. One day, I saw your introduction on the webpage. It was so impressive that I could feel unexplainable strong points from your introduction. There was something different from other teachers. Hence, I couldn't help choosing you as my teacher.

I still remember our first class. It sounds like an alarm clock to wake me up early in the morning. Your voice was always vivid and energetic. During that time, it was my pleasure to hear your voice like a vitamin. However, you gave me a lot of on-the-spot questions. I was getting bombarded with a series of questions and consequential stress. To be honest with you, they made me feel depressed sometimes as I couldn't answer anything as though I had speech impairment. I felt so heavy and it made me frustrated with my English skills. I almost gave up on your class.

- The Turning Point:
However, I didn't want to show it to you. Maybe, deep in my heart, I have an ego or tenacity telling me that “someday I am going to show you how much I’ve improved.” As time went by, I was getting familiar with your class. Day by day, I felt comfortable with you and your questions. I think I had been trained by your style unconsciously. Then I could start to make a joke hence you started to laugh with me. This made me enjoy your class.

- Where We Are:
I know you could give a lot of options to express my thoughts better while you are teaching. Sometimes, your vocabulary is so high so I’d always open my dictionary. It is indeed helpful to memorize a lot of vocabularies on the spot and idioms as well. I think they’re imprinted in my memory rather than just memorizing. So I'd like to say thank you for everything.

There is no exaggeration to say that you’ve made me where I am today.

I can almost understand what you are saying. Isn't it amazing? So we can move one step closer day by day. Every day seems like a whole new day when I meet you in our class. I am excited to take up a lesson with you every day. I am always looking forward to seeing you in the class.

- Where Should We Go

Of course I still have a lot flaws; however, there is no success without failure. Don't you think so? Today’s failure will make tomorrow's success. So I still need your attention and correction.

Old folks say “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” You are the best of the best that I've ever seen.
Now, I am ready. you will come to be my lifetime teacher.

The real companion never appears easily. I'd like us to be complementary life companion.

Thank you for teaching me every day. Thank you for making me realize "If there is no pain I would never gain anything".
