LV.4로 아미고톡에서 수업 시작한지 한달 째입니다. [It's been a month since I started a LV.4 class with AmigoTalk]

Details are below, but this is the summary for those of you who are worrying.

1. Don’t be afraid of English; try first with a “Hello.”

2. Try Skype talk if you have a fear in listening!!! (If you can’t listen, you can read in the chat box.)

3. Don’t think; take the level test!

4. Rather than choosing your teacher first, another way is to choose teachers that are available with your class schedule~ (I got teacher Leah as my teacher like this, and I’m really satisfied ^^)

5. If you’re still wondering, you can use the Q&A~ AmigoTalk Q&A is within the top 1% of every site. AmigoTalk Q&A is kindness itself.

From the end of January to February (for 35 days), I went on a vacation to 4 Southeast Asian countries (Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos) with my friends. I got to know many people while on that vacation, and of course our conversation was in English. I was really confident, because I studied for Toeic speaking right before I left for vacation. The reality was different, I couldn’t even think of easy words and I couldn’t speak properly. I was embarrassed, and I gradually lost confidence. In all my friends that went on the vacation with me, I was the most prideful about my English, but while all my friends’ skills improved, I couldn’t even say a word. I became a little bit mad at myself.

While on the vacation, I bumped into an older brother who was living in the States for 20 years. That guy told me to lose fear in English and start with a “Hello.” Even if you can’t speak or understand, give it a shot.

After hearing that, I started with greetings. When the vacation was almost over, I started speaking a bit more... I just got the hang of speaking in English, but I felt bad because it was already over.

In March, I returned to Korea. I started to have a craving for English studies. While I was looking at some papers, I read an article. It was Representative ByeonNoheul’s interview. Before this, I didn’t even think of phone talk, but for the first time, I thought that phone talk would be a good idea. While I was on vacation, I realized that it is important to try to speak, and I was confident that phone talk would be helpful.

While I was looking for articles about phone talk, I found out about Skype phone talk. I personally, thought that I was really good at reading. In Skype phone talk, even when you can’t understand, you can at least read the chat. When I realized this, I knew this was for me.

Even after I decided to do phone talk, I didn’t think of AmigoTalk right away. I was comparing between many other phone talk companies and found out that AmigoTalk was ranking top 1 in terms of industry. I also found out that the interview I saw was the representative in AmigoTalk.

I chose AmigoTalk right away.

First, I looked at all the teachers, wondering what teacher would be good for me. After comparing for a long time, I decided in my mind. Then, I applied for the free level test.

When I was doing the level test, the teacher was teacher Jam. I had a good feeling about teacher Jam, so I thought that it would be fun to have classes with this teacher. I decided to apply for classes with teacher Jam.

I then realized that all the comparing I did was for nothing. In the schedule that I wanted, neither teacher Jam nor the teacher I decided before was available. I collapsed at the fact that I wasted nearly 2 hours of my life. In the time that I wanted, there were only 3 teachers available. I considered the graphs of the teachers, and chose the teacher with the highest score.

That teacher was teacher Leah.

I applied for class, but when the day of the first class came, I became nervous. My heart beat really fast and I kept thinking to myself, “What do I do, what do I do..” All my confidence suddenly disappeared.

I liked speaking and was comfortable with it. I liked standing in front of people, and I had many experiences of delivering a lecture in front of hundreds of people. But while waiting for the 1:1 class with teacher Leah, I was so nervous.. I didn’t know what to do.

Like that, my first class ended. Twenty minutes went really slowly. I pleaded for class to end fast. Time passed by so slowly that the 20 minutes felt like an hour.

The next day, and the following day, my nervousness didn’t go away. Over time, I became more and more comfortable. As teacher Leah complimented me about my expression, pronunciation, and activeness in class, I slowly regained confidence.

Then, I received the first month report.

Even up to now, my heart starts to beat fast when it’s 10 minutes before class, but one thing different is that 20 minutes now feel like 1 minute, and right when class ends, I start to miss it.

Being able to speak in English started to become fun for me.

We couldn’t progress much in our lessons, because teacher Leah and I talked about random things too much. At first, I was worried about how slow we were progressing, but now, I don’t mind at all. Haha.

My class is 5 classes per week, 20 minutes each class.

Class curriculum is Sprinter

My teacher is teacher Leah

1. I feel that the contents in the homepage are not clearly organized.

When I try to find a certain menu, I don’t know where it is, so I have to click on every button to find it. If there’s a chance to do a homepage renewal, I think it would be good to make a more organized interface.

2. There is a small error in the class review message coming from My People.

I think it’s programmed to resend the message if we don’t reply in 10 minutes. After 9 minutes, if I start writing the answer to the first question, it resends the message at 10 minutes and I have to re-answer all over again. There are also a few times when I answer it, but it doesn’t recognize my answer.

3. The My Page in the top right of the website has a small problem too. When I move my mouse over it, the hand cursor is indicated, but I can’t press it. I saw that you have to click on the text. You could just change the whole My Page as an image, then it would be fixed...

It’s not a big problem, but due to these systematic problems, I feel a bit uncomfortable. I just wanted to suggest a solution to these problems. ^^

I didn’t have class today, so I wanted to write a review.

Two hours passed by like nothing while I was writing.
