Teacher Archie, you are the best!

Calling for 10 minutes with a phone felt really long at first, but it felt shorter and shorter as I got used to it. I felt that my English skills weren’t improving compared to how long I’ve been studying through phone talk. And so, just last year, I decided to make my class time over 20 minutes. Then, I quickly transferred to AmigoTalk.

I’m not that sensitive, so I don’t usually change teachers unless that teacher has a personal situation. I had 5 teachers total before teacher Archie, and they were all female teachers. I thought they assigned me a female teacher in purpose because I’m female, or that there are just a lot of female teachers. Then, I got a new teacher and surprisingly, it was a male teacher! I didn’t read the cyclopedia, and I thought that you couldn’t assign your own teacher. I was surprised when I saw teacher Archie because of his voice and because he was so skilled.

When I first started phone talk, I always asked for a teacher with good American accent, I think I asked for the same thing when I started AmigoTalk. Teacher Archie was way better than what I was expecting. I can’t tell exactly who, but I felt that teacher Archie was like a Hollywood Actor. He was good in class and I liked his humor. I was satisfied last year studying with teacher Archie for 3~4 months. Then, unfortunately, because of my schedule, I had to change my teacher. It wasn’t because I wasn’t satisfied of teacher Archie, but I felt bad that I couldn’t even say farewell. Then, after about 3 months, I came back to teacher Archie. I studied with teacher Archie a total of about 7 months. I’m really satisfied right now. Teacher Archie makes learning really fun and exciting.

At first, it took me much more time than I expected to prepare for class, but now 20 minutes of preparation is perfect for me. Phone talk feels like one-on-one English tutoring. It is way more efficient than going to English academies. Atok Review Message Service was the reason I decided to register a course at AmigoTalk, but now that I changed to English newspaper curriculum, Atok disappeared. I feel a little bad about that.

Class program is free talking>article reading>comprehension questions>discussion questions. Sometimes, free talking gets so short that I don’t even notice we had any. When I first started the newspaper article reading, I thought that it was useless, but now I realize that it’s really good. I thought that my reading was pretty good because I had no problem with reading while talking tests, and I also heard a lot of compliments about my reading. I was even asked by a native speaker if I ever lived in the States. So in class, I read something, but I was corrected a few times by teacher Archie. Before each class, I prepare by listening to words with American accent.

As I was listening to them, I realized that I lacked a lot in reading. Reading the article takes at the most 2~3 minutes, but when I read in front of teacher Archie, I understand the story easily, and it’s really fun reading it in American accent. ^^ In the wide monitor, I use half of the screen for the article for that day, and the other half to roughly write down in a memo the answers for the questions. Doing memo makes class time really fun. If you’re looking for a male teacher with a handsome voice, teacher Archie is just the right person for you!

I’ve changed teachers a few times because I changed my class schedule. Personally, my top two teachers are teacher Archie and teacher Maria. These two teachers have different class styles. Teacher Archie’s pronunciation and accent is like a Hollywood actor, and he teaches skillfully. He doesn’t make the pause in between questions and answers too awkward. He follows the curriculum and his class runs smoothly and is never boring. Teacher Maria is really cool and big hearted. Her voice is a bit husky, but her pronunciation and accent is perfect. I really like her confidence in teaching. She corrects my mistakes right away. I don’t think she’s the type that follows the curriculum, but she never ignores a mistake and always corrects it right away. I did class with her about 3 times due to schedule changes, but she impressed me every time. Teacher Maria is in charge of the morning, and teacher Archie the afternoon. These two teachers are like 2 great pillars supporting AmigoTalk.

(This could sound impolite to other teachers that I don’t know, but this is my personal opinion. ^^)

Archie

I got carried on while writing. Every time I saw teacher Archie’s introduction, he didn’t have any reviews from students, so I always felt that I needed to post a review but I just realized that someone already posted a review of teacher Archie about a month ago.  I wanted to be the first one to post a review… I hope many students will post reviews of teacher Archie in the future. I strongly recommend teacher Archie!
